Name: Glorificus - Glory
Classification: Hellgod
Age: Unknown
History:
Glory was cast from her dimension and trapped within the body of a human named Ben. Desperate to return to her own dimension she sought the one thing that could get her there, the Key.
The Key, in its native form solid energy, was fashioned by monks into the body of a girl, which the Slayer would willingly protect with her life. This girl became Buffy's little sister Dawn. The same blood flowed through her veins as Buffy's, but her past as everyone remembered it, was an elaborate fabrication.
Being that she was sharing the body of a mortal, Glory's powers remained limited. Despite that fact her speed and strength far outweighed that of an ordinary human. Frequently she was able to gain control over her human host and shape him to her chosen form. In order to keep up her own strength and sanity in the foreign dimension, she fed from the minds of humans.
Eventually Glory was able to capture the Key. Her plans were to use the Key's energies to break down the dimensional walls and thereby return home. Buffy beat Glory to the point that she believed the Hellgod could never again take control of Ben. Giles, unconvinced that the problem was truly solved, killed Ben and in theory permanently destroyed Glory along with him.
The destruction of Glory came too late. The ritual to merge the dimensions had already begun and in order to end it, Buffy sacrifices herself so that Dawn could live. While Dawn and Spike later managed to resurrect Buffy, the Slayer was not the only one who did not remain dead.
Several months later, Aaron, was able to resurrect Glory. This time rather than being forced into a mortal body, Glory was brought back in her own form and left free to develop her powers. While she remained weak being in the dimension that is not her own, her powers continue to grow. Soon her powers surpassed the level that they were at when last Buffy and her friends confronted her.
Glory's goal remained to return to her home. Her search for the Key, however, came to a dead end as Dawn fell through a portal. Without her Key and since having made an enemy of Aaron, Glory was left without many options. Eventually she came to an uneasy truce with Giles. He guaranteed that he would destroy Aaron and find her a way back to her dimension as long as she did not harm any of those close to him.
Plans proceeded well enough until it was brought to light that it had in fact been Giles, not Buffy, that had killed her the first time around. Glory had decided to kill Giles, but in the end her need for his services saved his life. Instead of killing him she promised to torment him at every moment. Giles resigned himself to that fact given the realization of a common enemy, the First.
Little time passed before Glory inevitably betrayed Giles. A now older Dawn had managed to find her way back to this dimension and this time Glory did not hesitate to make her move before Dawn or her protector, Spike, even knew of her presence. Before anyone knew what was happening, Glory had successfully used Dawn to return to her home dimension.
While Spike eventually managed to follow her, taking Dawn from her custody, he only succeeded in that because Glory had far larger things on her plate - namely that she was in the middle of overturning the leadership of her world and again claiming that dimension as her own. Dawn and Spike were able to escape under the chaos of the battle, but it wasn't long before Glory found the success she had so badly desired and she looked to earth as her newest site to claim.
